The fishing industry has had one of the largest impacts on echinoderms removing most of its diet from the ocean. This includes clams, mussels, and oysters which rescues the food available to echinoderms. The pet industry has an impact on echinoderms as well with the collection and removal of live coral and rocks from reefs in which most echinoderms live. As well as echinoderms being taken out of the natural habitat them selves to be sold as pets. Humans also are creating a large carbon footprint releasing large amounts of carbon dioxide into the air. This creates a slight rise in pH levels which affect sensitive species of echinoderms when in adult age and all echinoderms in their developing stages of life. Ocean pollution is a huge part of damage done to echinoderms habitats.
